Fall is coming, back to school days are just around the corner, and I can not wait. After a long (pregnant) hot summer with four little boys home and busy everyday, I can't wait to change things up, get a nice routine going with school, and to enjoy some brisk fall air. . . and Fall Fashion of course. Being pregnant, I think that I will really be into wearing jeggings (jean leggings), boots, and tunics. And, cute preppy blazers and trench coats! So, here are a few images for fall.....

Oh Friends, I have a big surprise to reveal...and this surprise isn't good for any fashion blog...I am Pregnant! Yes....Yes its true and yes I just had a baby 10 months ago. It wasn't planned, but we feel very happy and excited about it. I was just getting passionate about clothes again, and just fitting into all of my favorites. So, it is definitely a setback for this blog...
I get sick for a good 90 percent of my pregnancy. It is really hard. And, I lose one of my favorite hobbies....fashion and getting dressed! I am really an all or nothing kind of person and when I can't wear the clothes...I am disinterested. I sort of cut it off. Maybe since this is my LAST BABY/PREGNANCY I should TRY to keep up on fashion. I think I will. It will be a goal. If any of you have any tips, or ideas for me for fall, or advice on dressing for two...:) please comment. I could use some uplifting pick me ups. :) Oh, and I am 14 weeks along and due early February.

I do love babies though, they make it all worth it.

Every year, someplace in between spring's end and the brink of summer...I begin my annual obsession with white. White is so reminiscent of summertime. Nothing seems more crisp, more breezy for a day in the sunshine than white. It always stands out, looks clean, and shows off a summer tan. Nothing looks more beautiful in the summertime.

Chanel's 2010 Spring Runway featured this putty colored polish...and I LOVE it. The color is Greige --(That's Beige and Grey mixed together) How amazing (tasteful) is this color..LOVE.

forever 21....this place has hundreds and hundreds of cheap clothes to sort through. I did it. I sorted through 1400 images and found my faves....and I'm sharing with my besties....here you go.

Okay, so I have taught myself a little trick. It has saved my life...or my laundry room's life. I posted this special lesson of advice on Facebook, and one of my girlfriends quickly commented that her mother (a lady whom I have admired and looked up to for years) has been telling her that ever since she was a married housewife. I was so proud of myself for figuring out the valuable secret all on my own. A bit bothered that it took me so long...(9 years of marriage and 4 kids later)....to figure out this golden rule of Laundry....I have since shared this with my sisters, sister in laws, and dearest friends.....so my dearests, here it is.

*JUST ONE LOAD A DAY KEEPS THE OVERLOAD AWAY....

And that's it. So simple. Just be sure that you put one load of clothes in the washing machine every day, dry the clothes, fold them, and just put em away before the day's end. You heard me, PUT THEM AWAY, that is a Key point too. If you follow this tip, your laundry life wont drag you down.

I do crave when I am pregnant. I actually have a really weird relationship with food when I am pregnant....a kind of love hate if you will. I love something so much and then get so sick after eating it??? Anyway...this has been my love food during this pregnancy. KEY LIME PIE.?? Who would have guessed?

It all happened when I placed an order to go at Cafe Rio. When I got home and opened up my bag....I found a small key lime pie! "Yuck," I thought..."who will eat this?" Well I ended up trying a small bite....fell in love....and finished the rest of the pie all by myself. Now I can't stop thinking about them.

Since the first, I have tried Kneader's key lime pie tarts, and Market Street Grill's Key Lime Pie. ALL amazing. But I have to say that the Cafe Rio Key lime beats them all. I read that the world's best Key Lime Pie is famous in the FLorida Keyes! I seriously thought about going out there....that is pregnancy thinking for ya!

What do you Crave...anything amazing that satisfies the tum that I should know about?

We found out that we are expecting our fourth SON! We are having another baby BOY. I couldn't be happier. I love little boys, especially the three little men of my own. Steve and I watched this movie, FINDING NEVERLAND, just after having our second son Talmage. We actually both cried together and laughed about how little boys' imaginations are so magical and they have such a Zest for life, adventure, and discovery! Mine are particularly sweet and loving to their Mother....I get to have four little boyfriends for life! What a happy happy Mother's Day treat!

Hey friends...sorry that I fell off for awhile. I am pregnant and therefore don't really feel like I have any business talking fashion! I am stuck in a world that consists of wearing my husbands Tshirts and my last-time-around's maternity selection. I haven't had any desire to shop for clothes lately as I am in total denial of my ever expanding waist. I don't want to address the issues of my doughy body yet....I am still just beyond four months along! Too soon to be wearing maternity, but not comfortable wearing MY wardrobe...so I've just been stuck in a fashion coma for the last little bit.

IF anyone has any new and fresh ideas for a pregnant girl to wear during her summer pregnancy months, please let me know. I need some great tips to get me out of my rut! I was talking to a friend who told me straight up..."There really is NO such thing as a hot pregnant chick. Just a lot of admiration for the girls who give 'looking good' the best try and effort." She then said, "Even Angelina Jolie in her giant Muumuu on the red carpet was a tragic look, but you have to give her props for her valiant effort on the red carpet." So funny, but sadly kind of true. I HAVE seen cute and fabulous pregnant women, however...after three tries, I have found that I don't really do it well. My face looks swollen from the first month in and I never get that magical GLOW.

So I need help. Please send me your helpful tips and fashion ideas!!! I will be SO grateful!

I made a sad mistake, I forgot to snap pics at Shelby's Baby Shower! I stole these from my Sister Lisanne's Blog....These are all I have! The favors were a round sugar cookie with White Frosting and a Red B in the center and a red dotted trim around the outer rim of the cookie, we tied them in a cellophane bag with the ribbon from the invite. My Mother in law did the table along with Steph and Lis. It was fabulous! But more importantly, we had so much fun and I think Shelby felt so special from all the love for her that day! Yesterday I went to a Baby Shower for my cute Sister Tiffany! She is having her first baby girl next month. I am so excited for her, she will be the cutest little Mommy! I can't wait to see her little one, she will be so beautiful no doubt. Tiffany received this gift from our other sister Steph. I fell in love with it. I have NEVER been super in love with any diaper bag! They are either too cheesy, too girlie for a mom with boys, or just not my style. BUT, when I saw this one from Juicy COuture, I fell for it. Part 1 --To All of My Friends: My Attempt at Getting Out of My Deep Hole

Today I was talking on the phone to a dear friend who just had a baby. I was going off on how excruciating it was to get back into the swing of fashion, fitness and feeling like myself after giving birth! I was rambling on about how fat and ugly I felt and I realized that I was NOT helping and maybe sounding a bit too vain. So, after we hung up....I wrote her this letter. I then became worried about all of the friends I have joked with about (or thought we were joking about) appearances and fashion in MOTHERHOOD. Perhaps I have sounded or come off too negative! So, to ALL of my Buddies...I am sorry if I came off wrong......this is what I really mean when I talk Fashion, Fitness, and Feeling Fabulous.......

Dear Friend.....
I really hope that my comments today didn't leave you thinking that I have some crazy egocentric view of the Universe....Those comments truly are in a joking context and are simply made to make myself feel better about the haggard and frumpy little housewife that I've become. It is true that I LOVE fashion and can only dream of being a fabulous beauty, but the truth is that I am fully aware that my reality is far from being anything close to fab. Also, When I was saying that I felt like there are "certain people" I can joke that way with, I meant people who I deem prettier than myself...or more fashionable than I am....These are the ones who can laugh at my silly sad little self and find it unoffensive! This is why I feel comfortable making those statements to you! :) I assume that you just shake your head and chuckle with pity for my sad attempts to look a bit less like the frazzled mommy who I am. YOU however, are actually one of those Mom's that everyone in town comments on about being TOO perfect, too gorgeous, too often! (Comments of jealousy)

Anyway, I have been joking this way with you for some time now and I hope that all of this time you haven't thought of me as a vain and arrogant friend. I guess I figure that If I am the first one to say it, then others understand that I am self aware and trying!--that I am NOT unknowingly going down the fashion drain! So, does that clear things up? Does that make any more sense? So, bottom line....the gist of it....***I KNOW that I am no longer hip, not sure if I ever really was, but can only hope/dream for someday! (maybe my thirties)...if it isn't too late because of a body sacrifice for babies.

Oh, and I am sorry about my insensitivity to age as well. I think being married to an older man has left me a bit desensitized to the subject! I feel like anyone over the age of 25 is the same. And honestly, I forget that you aren't my very own age! You seem (and Look) like you are 26 as well. So, if I ever accidentally make an age remark that stings, just know that I think of you as not possibly a day over thirty...and because of how great you look, you are immune to any age comments. However, because I am now experiencing the effects of age and the giant factor it plays by way of appearances, you may want to start reminding me of yours in conversation! It always makes me admire you EVEN MORE so when you politely remind me that not only do you look better than me, but that you do it with a couple years on me!

I think this is the silliest email I have ever written! I just want you to know that I think of you as one of my very best friends. I feel like I can tell you anything, turn to you for help, and hang out and laugh harder than ever with you! Thank you for being so wonderful to me. Always. We continuously wind up having passion for all of the same things, and we have so much in common. It is always great to look into your eyes and know that you TRULY understand. We are truly president of one another's fan clubs! I'm going to save this email and re-read it when I feel like a frumpy--fat--mom.

One of my favorite mission companions wrote this little poem to me; I've seen it somewhere since, so I know she didn't write it, but I think it should become the motto of our fan clubs.

Last Spring, Steve took me along to Vegas where I shopped Caesar's Forum Shops every day that I was there....and got kind of obsessed with Burberry. AMAZING. Well last spring they had their new FALL FASHION RUNWAY '08 SHOW playing on big screens in the store and I must have sat there in the store and watched that show a couple three times. The store's people were my new BFF's and they were laughing at my deep appreciation for the beauty in this Fall line. I saw this necklace in the store that day and I haven't been able to keep my mind off of it. I think I really need to get my hands on this....It is true love, I haven't stopped thinking about it since March!!! That is a long time to hang on to a memory of a necklace!!! So here it is my friends, and it is followed by a list of my other LOVES from this dynamo.

So, for some reason I have been 'Nesting' this week. {Not Pregnant} I think it is because my oldest child is starting Kindergarten {leaving the Nest} and my second will go to preschool. I am feeling like a full on Mom -- Living for the kids and their schedules. So anyway, I have just been cleaning and organizing up a little storm. Seriously, just to organize and deep clean the Laundry room was like a four day mess...clothes everywhere!

Well, as I was throwing out, bagging up for DI, and storing up all of my kiddies clothes, I stumbled upon something I must share. (Maybe most of you are already on to it, but if you are not....you will love it!) THE GIANT HEFTY ONE ZIP BAGS! I bought some just at the grocery store and I LOVE them. I have seen some on infomercials with a special something or other that will suck the air out....but I just zipped them up all except for an inch and just inhaled all the air out myself. I stored away my freshly cleaned Baby Blanket Collection and have about 15 big fluffies all in one bag. AND the best part is....I can store them up on a shelf and the dust wont get in! It just feels SO good. I know all of my friends appreciate this feeling I am talking about. So, if you haven't done this yet to store those Clothes, blankets, linnens......Do it right away cause it feels so good! (And saves space!) :)

Okay, I have a new found addiction...Dior Addict Lip Gloss. This is the perfect lipgloss, and trust me when I say that I am picky about lipstick, gloss, yeah. Why do I love this so much? The bottle is the perfect size, the applicator a short sized brush...so you can more conveniently apply it on the go! And because it is so small, you can apply and pretty much go unnoticed if you aren't in the ladies room. (For some reason, it feels improper to me to apply lipstick in public, when others watch.) THATS NOT ALL, the brush is a perfect applicator, the gloss is not sticky, it is just PERFECT! Honestly my lips have never felt so good. SO, if you happen to run through Nordstroms, pick one up. YOu'll become an {Addict}. My fave color is 157 Jersey Rose. It is basically a nude look dressed up a notch! OH yeah, and there is a plumper version too....AMAZING! Most lip plumpers leave your mouth tasting terrible, this one is actually refreshing! I highly recommend it. :)

Now, if you can't splurge right now and want a FANTASTIC and practical lipgloss, try Almay's
IDEAL Lipgloss. My Favorite shade is pink shimmer. It has a small amount of peppermint in it so every application is refreshing. It is never sticky, it has a brush applicator as well, and it always works. AND, you can pick it up practically anywhere. It is the Steal of the Day. For perfect lips line with a lip liner of your favorite color and top with this gloss. It lasts quite a while and feels great. I prefer a liner that matches my lips or a shade darker smudged a bit into the lips.

Project Runway was pretty good this week. I got an idea that Brooke Shields kind of isn't the most fashionable person! SHe was sweet....and pretty,..... but I feel like she didn't know what she was doing, or what she really wanted.....anywho.......I really was excited to see Keith (from Utah) and Kenley work so well together! THey made a good team, although their winning outfit wasn't my favorite. I really liked Jarell's again, and I liked Terri's top again. (She makes very crude commentary though....big disappointment). So I typically don't go Boho for my own personal wardrobe, I too, (like Chelsea) am a total preppy at heart, but...I am loving the look from Gucci. There's a luxury running through these pieces. I am loving the tight skinny pants, the cropped jackets, the ankle boots, the tall chunky boots, and the hair too... Love it. NOtice all the black tight skinny pants? THey are so hot, the tighter the better, with a little extra length bunched at the ankles.....ahhh....wish they looked this good on me. Have a look. Give your thoughts....

Okay, so I have been missing out this season! Hello, I had no idea (until I visited Jan's blog) that the season had started! Wha? How did I not know? So, I watched last night.....and it was like seeing a dear old friend. My Wednesday nights are back on track! Oh how I loved it. I started off by watching the episode of a New York Sights Inspired Dress. How amazing, and what a perfectly creative episode to start out with! Then I watched the Olympic special....Last nights episode. It was more of a basic challenge, so not as good as the NY one. SOOOOO, who do you love at this point? Who has it going on? Who is Fierce?

I think that I really like Leanne, Jarell and Terri. They are all quite good, and their skills are remarkable. So far they have all turned out great quality.

Last night's winner for me was Leanne. Her Olympic ensamble stole the show in my humble opinion.....What does everyone think? Do share....

FALL RUNWAY REPORT

Harper's Bazaar has a special issue out on stands of the Fall 2008 Runway shows in NY, Paris, London, and Milan. Go out and get it. It is such a fun issue, and I have looked over and over it. I can not get enough. Some of the collections were straight up terrible, like Marc Jacobs....what a disappointment. BUT, I did find three to four designer's who had incredibly fabulous collections, and I have been taking notes from these collections for my personal fall style! The trend that I am loving for fall is Country Chic. The Ralph Lauren show and the Carolina Herrera show had gorgeous clothes, and just so rich in color and texture. They both had feathers, fedoras, big collars, silk scarfs, hand gloves, vests, boots, pencil skirts, and textured jackets. Fall clothes can be so much fun. They had lots of layers and great accessories. Here are some of my FAVORITE looks from the Carolina Herrera show......WISH I could get my hands on all of these....especially this first dress, this is number one on my wish list....the dark gorgeous skin on the model glorifies that amzing color.

Remember that these are all unrealistic and exaggerated for show, but just take inspiration from them to create your own practical everyday versions....now if I could just make the fedora look chic on me.....that is one trend I love, but can't seem to make it work for me....I think worn with hair half up might be the trick, like these models above....I don't know....any ideas? How do you wear a fedora?

So last week I Just felt like watching this fine movie from the past....Michelle Pfeiffer is just the ultiamte style icon. Well in this movie, she wears a little vest and jacket pencil skirt suit to work with a classic trench coat and heels. She layers it all so well and during the movie she ends up slipping into a dinosaur T-shirt with the skirt and jacket.....due to a spill from her son. This dino-T look just so happens to be better than the original collared shirt she started her day with. The T and the Pencil skirt is the look I am loving for fall!

The movie is shot all in one fine day and she changes the look up all day, from dino T to a silk scarf.....Watch the movie. After looking at J.Crew's fall line, pairing a Subtle graphic T with a pencil skirt and some heels is so chic and fun for Fall! Add a long necklace or even pearls {or silk scarf} and your look will be an updated Melanie Parker....AKA Michelle Pfeiffer.

So go and watch the movie....You'll see what I mean, and then go browse the latest J.Crew and plan your look!

Okay, I just have to confess that I almost pulled this blog last week. I have just been feeling like maybe it is silly, too shallow, or just straight up weird! But the truth is, I love to learn and share with my friends and other Mommies who are like me.....little tidbits of everything that makes me happy and great finds that help me feel young, pretty, funny, fresh, and feminine! That was the purpose of this blog. Not necessarily for fashion, but for all things that are lovely. I hoped to share all .....and then in return.... for my kindreds to comment and share back!

I don't have many readers, but the ones I do have make it all worth while. Honestly to come home after a long day of Mommyhood, after all the little monkeys are tucked into bed, and to turn on the computer and find that one other cute girl out there liked the exact same purse (and did so as enough to comment about it) just makes me light up! All day I cater to my children and fam...and all of their friends.....and somedays I'll go all day without talking to a "Kate Friend"....so when I can come home and laugh that somewhere out there is a kindred MISS, (not a mam or a lady) who shares a commonality with me. :) And the reality is this.....We both may never own these fine fashions, or shoes, but we have our dreams and we keep on dreaming anyway!

The Fairies are Coming! Disney is releasing a whole new DVD series based on Tinker Bell and her life in Pixie Hollow. The first one comes out this fall (Oct. 28th), with sequels to follow every October for the next three years.
The big news is this is the first time kids will get to hear Tink Talk.... or I guess we get to hear her too! Kinda wish I had a daughter on this one.....I'll just have to get them and save them! Today is Earth Day and I must say that We are ALL for Going GREEN! I posted some pics of blossoming trees...which I feel are very appropriate for this time of year! Environmental issues are definitely worth paying attention to, standing up for, and for teaching our children about. So today, I am going to have a little lesson with my children about recycling, cleaning up our Earth, planting trees, and protecting our beautiful green home. We as parents must recognize how important it is to show our children the great value of our planet....it is their future and the hope is in their hands.

Vera Wang's Black Leggings...

Yes, I am talking about the ubiquitous black leggings that we have all added as a staple to our fall and winter wardrobes.....The question is, Can we continue to wear them into spring and summer? My vote is absolutely! Keep them around by simply transforming them into spring wear. How? Just reinvent them and get creative! Maybe wear them a bit higher on the leg, sport some fun new pumps with them, strappy heels, or pretty flats. I would also recommend pairing them with metallics, light neutrals, and stick with a soft palette for spring. Sometimes black mixed with bold colors can look tacky in the spring, or perhaps...Eighties?!

I also must highly suggest though, Try to break away from them a bit in spring/summer...not because they aren't fabulous...but because there are SO many other fun options to explore this season. Show off your legs with some really different shoes... Make a statement with your shoes! Wear some new Low Strapped Mary Jane Pumps with tight knee shorts, or wear round toe heels with your capris! I have seen so many great shorts, skirts, and fun long dresses to wear around. Plus, if you kind of tuck the leggings away for now, then when fall comes rolling around...you'll have something you can pull out and switch it up with! *JuSt mY PErSonal PhilosoPhy this Spring! This is my new favorite object of desire! It is Le Creuset from Williams-Sanoma.

I went into that store the other day, and it had been a long time since my last visit....It was SO much fun. I bought some new dish towels, spatulas, and fun bright colors to brighten up my kitchen for spring. I would recommend going in at the start of each season for inspiration and new ideas for your kitchen....Decor, food, linens, and for fun new cooking projects!

A few weeks ago, Oprah did a makeover show for "schlumpadinkas," a word she coined to describe women who live in sweatpants and ponytails. With the help of fashion stylist Lloyd Boston, a group of suburban moms went from frumpy to fabulous (for not much money either, I should add).

A take-home tip from Lloyd that I loved: "If you want to wear comfortable pants to go grocery shopping or pick up the kids from soccer practice, invest in a good pair of yoga pants, which do a lot more for your figure and make you look polished and pulled together."

I have been saying this forever! I AM SOOO OVER SWEATSUITS! They are cancelled! No more!

BUT this guy forgot to mention a key tip!.....Only wear yoga pants with sporty flats!
